Devils are cruel beings, the servants of the Traitor’s Doctrine and examples of what happens to those who allow their hearts to be overtaken by selfishness and malice. Devils serve the every whim of their dark masters, traveling to the mortal realms on occasion to corrupt the souls of the innocent and strike weighted deals with those in need of assistance. The devils seek to bolster their ranks above all else and would do anything to achieve this goal.
According to divine law, the souls of mortals overtaken by evil may be claimed by the devils and brought to the infernal dominions. When the souls arrive, they are offered the chance to swear themselves to the dark gods, prompting the creation of a new devil and forfeiting the soul’s free will in the process. Those that resist are tortured into submission over what seems like an eternity. Once thoroughly beaten, the soul is presented the same offer once more, to which they always accept.
