Dark Elves, also known as Drow are sinister occupants of subterranean realms hidden far from the surface world above. Despite their harsh surroundings, dark elves are able to thrive thanks to their keen intellect and religious fervour. Females are seen as the leaders within dark elven society, while males are typically viewed as second-class citizens. Many dark elf communities force male occupants to wear masks at all times, removing them only within private residences. Typically these masks correlate with an individual’s wealth, making the masks of nobles much fancier than those of commoners.

Description

Dark elves are quite tall and typically stand taller than the average human. Male and female dark elves should be roughly the same height and weight on average, though malnutrition leaves many male dark elves quite skinny. Dark elves are surprisingly light for their height, while retaining much of the strength and endurance seen in other beings of a similar size.

Dark elven skin tones range through various shades of dark grey, all the way to black. Dark elven hair is usually white, though silver hair is sometimes seen. Dark elven eyes are universally red, though the exact tone is known to vary depending on the individual.

Dark elves grow no body hair, aside from that on their heads. Dark elves have ears that extend upwards towards a sharp point. These ears are known to be highly sensitive and can perceive even quiet noises with remarkable clarity.

Personality

Dark elves are known to be cruel and vindictive, resorting to slavery for the construction and maintenance of their impressive subterranean cities. Most dark elves care only for themselves, though familial bonds have been known to occasionally spark a sense of compassion. Religion is valued extremely highly by most dark elves, who see the wicked spider Aranea as their only hope of survival in the inhospitable environments they call home.
