The Aetern Empire was once a great nation that conquered most of Owish though diplomacy and military campaigns, bringing technological and economic advancement to otherwise struggling regions. The political weight of the empire was so tremendous that an entire age was based around its rise and subsequent fall. Though the empire no longer exists, many of its vassal nations still feel great cultural influence from its triumphant reign.
History
Founding (Fourth Age)
Though the continent of Owish was successfully settled by Oblitan refugees, the nations on the continent were left fragmented and weak, constantly bickering with one another while waging needless wars. House Leohomm, the ruling house of Revero desired to return to the ways of the great nations of Oblitus. Through a complex web of flattery, deceit, bribery and marriage, most nearby human nations were on excellent terms with Revero. Nobles of House Leohomm could be found across Owish, influencing the courts of countless regions.
Revero ultimately became the imperial seat of the Aetern Empire, with dozens of foreign nations swearing fealty to the new empire. The sudden influx of wealth seen through improved trade between these nations allowed the empire to progress at a rapid rate, bringing advanced technology to even the poorest regions within the nation.
Rise to Power (Fourth Age)
As additional nations were vassalized by the empire, the nation’s wealth, influence and military might continued to amass. Military campaigns were launched to bring “civilization” to distant lands and mighty roads were constructed across the continent.
Schools were constructed in large settlements and aqueducts brought water to dry fields.
