Barley
Barley is a halfling shire and home to the Barley Clan. As the name would imply, Barley is a community of mostly farmers and must import much of its materials through trade with nearby settlements.
Geography
Barley is located east of Woodpecker Forest just off the Cottonbon Road. The Golden Pass travels through the village, supplying the local population with water.
Government
Barley has no centralized government, instead relying on the people to settle disputes among themselves. In the event that a government is needed, all permanent inhabitants of Barley travel to the village square, where they vote on a resolution.
Defences
Barley has little in the way of defences, leaving it open to attack. Fortunately, the village is well hidden from the outside, embedded between rolling hills. Barley produces few resources, so it is unappealing to most potential invaders.
