Black Hollow is a large town known for its bleak appearance and abundance of ravens. Black Hollow is the capital of the Lenstein province within Loneda. The town supplies crops to the surrounding area, though it is also a popular burial site. Black Hollow is said to be directly watched over by Anima, possibly contributing to the somber atmosphere throughout the town.
Geography
Black Hollow is located in the Reyes Plains at the northern end of the Blackberry Road, just south of Bullfrog Swamp. The town is almost fully surrounded by farmfields and apple orchards. The Champion River flows through the town, bringing ample water to the local population.
Government
Black Hollow is governed by Lysander Ravenvale, the elected mayor. Elections are held every thirty years, allowing each mayor to hold roughly the same power as a lord. Despite the democratic nature of the elections, members of the House Ravenvale are always elected and have remained in power since soon after the town was founded.
Trade
The town of Black Hollow provides a large portion of the food within the kingdom of Loneda, with farmland and orchards stretching out for miles around the town’s perimeter. Alcoholic beverages are a popular export, with both wine and mead produced at the Goldenvale Brewery. Black hollow is often associated with Anima, making coffins and urns other popular exports.
Defences
Black Hollow rarely comes under attack from outside forces so its defensive capabilities are lacking in comparison with other towns of a similar size. Despite this, the town guard remain a highly competent local defensive force specializing in urban conflicts. A large stone wall surrounds a small portion of town, though much of Black Hollow remains unguarded.
