Carapace Armour is a variety of medium armour created by interlocking the hard plates found on many large crustaceans, insects and arachnids. Elves are very fond of carapace armour, usually creating it with discarded giant mosquito and spider shells.
Description
Carapace armour has a uniquely eerie appearance, clearly created from the repurposed carapace of living beings. The armour ranges greatly in colour and is often painted for military use.
Availability
Carapace armour is quite rare in most societies as many find it far more off-putting than simple chain or leather. Regardless, the armour is available in many elven communities as well as costal communities with minimal access to durable metal.
