Wood Elf

Wood Elves are the guardians of nature, timeless sentinels devoted to maintaining the balance between civilization and the wilderness. Wood elves are the most numerous of all the elves, dwarfing the populations of both high elves and dark elves. Though they are sometimes seen as cold or unfriendly by outsiders, wood elves are simply devoted to maintaining the natural peace they have worked tirelessly to achieve. Wood elves are considered the kindest of elves, but one would be wise to give them their needed space. It is foolish to interfere with nature under the protection of wood elves, for doing so invokes the wrath of its guardians.

Description

Wood elves are known to stand just shorter than most humans, Male and female wood elves are roughly the same height and weight on average. Wood elves are surprisingly light for their height, while retaining much of the strength and endurance seen in other beings of a similar size.

Wood elven skin tones comprise a variety of beige, tan, brown and green shades, ranging greatly between individual elves. Wood elf hair is usually green, brown, or orange. Wood elf eyes are typically bright, with blue, green and grey being the most common colours.

Unlike other elves, wood elves are fully capable of growing facial hair, though many choose to shave theirs off. Wood elves have ears that extend upwards towards a sharp point. Though all elves are known to have similar pointed ears, wood elves typically possess the longest. These ears are known to be highly sensitive and can perceive even quiet noises with remarkable clarity.

Settlements

Wood elves are nomadic by nature, roaming through deep forests either individually or in small families. Regions occupied by wood elves will often be decorated with simple markers made of fallen branches and small stones. These markers denote the territory protected by a wood elf or family, interfering with these waypoints in any way will swiftly invite the fury of the wood elves.
